Who taught the monkey to write? I know I sound prejudiced here, but I'm not. Really, I want to know why some people write.
What spurred this you ask? Well, I recently started participating in a writing competition. I won't say which, since I'm sure that some of you will recognize it. But, honestly, why is it that some people write, even when they shouldn't?
I know I sound like a snob, but I take my profession very seriously. The people in this competition keep having Write-in's and get together's at coffee shops. I'm all for getting to know people, but these are happening every other day. every serious writer knows that if you want to meet a certain word count or writing goal of any sort, you have to have very little distraction.
I mean, participating in these "Let's write and gab" fests, just seems pointless to me. How does the monkey intend to keep to it's writing goals when it's off grabbing a banana and a cappucino every five minutes?

I hear ya, that's why I prefer to write in solitude with little to no distractions nearby, especially the over gabbers...and who knows, now that my xbox 360 needs to be repaired stopping a stack of games from getting reviewed I may have a few more minutes to do some casual writing.

Well I write because I like to put up things that people are interested in I first started to write stuff for HMPs fan fiction section at the time my quality was poor then I switched to writing porn and received some instructional help from other porn writers that greatly improved the quality of my work. (It seems pron writers like to help new people a lot.) Recently I got tired of doing porn and started to Wrote stuff For R.P.P. I think I do it because I'm an attention sleeper.
