A good friend from classicbattletech.com (Rick Steele) recently had some of his stuff stolen at gencon...to help in the possible recovery I'm posting his message here:
If you have any information please let Rick know through the e-mail given or at least let me know here on the boards so I can pass it along to him. Thanks.
First, let me say how stupid of me it was to leave a bag stuffed under a table overnight at Gen Con. Don't ever do that with things you value. (2 straight 16 hour days of running BT events does funny things to your brain... )
If anybody notices a Commando Edition Total Warfare turn up, number 81 (my Commando number), please do two things:
1. Notify the person who has it that it is lost/stolen property, and should be returned to me. Give them my contact info.
2. Notify me. khanricksteele@yahoo.com
For information leading to its recovery, I will make it worth your time with free minis and/or BT/Shadowrun products. (FYI, I have a rather large cache of unseen minis still in blisters, and 1980's books.)
Note that the CLE version is black leather bound with a silver Battlemaster logo on the cover, like the regular LE, but also has a silver Commando logo. On the inside of the rear cover I wrote my local nickname "Shaggy!". Just in case the printing number page is "missing".
The bag and contents were last seen around 12 to 1 am Saturday (Indy time), 18-August-2007, in rooms 203-204 of the ICC.
Bag description: large wheeled duffel bag with hard plastic back and retractable handle. About 24" long by 12" wide, mostly black, in rather beat-up condition. There were other contents of the bag but nothing of great value. The hardest blow to me was the 300 pages of preprinted record sheets for the Battletech Open, and my spare ink cartridge.
(I have a feeling that the person who took it was expecting some expensive electronics, and left the bag in an alley or dumpster.)
Thank you for your attention.
Lastly, if anybody has any suggestions as to what other measures I might take to find it, feel free to suggest in this thread.
Already have a watch on eBay.
