Ok so Sunday the 26th was my 27th birthday. Woo hoo, kudos to me. Right? Well in truth my Birthday was great. Sent the kids to a sitter, and went out for a nice quiet dinner with the hubby. Came home, went on line to one of the many forums I frequent, and well... low and behold the good feeling was gone. So it started out with, "you aren't doing this my way, so it isn't right."
Ok so a little background first. I'm playing a character in an online RPG. Well it seems that folks think I'm playing the character wrong. Now how callous is that? It isn't even this person's character, it's mine, and here he is telling me that "You're not playing the character right." I'm appalled. The nerve this guys has, right?
Ok so I procede to explain why I'm playing the character the way I am, and give him a little bit of background into what is in the works for the character's development. He isn't happy with that. He wants me to stop playing the character the way I'm playing her, and push her more into the background. I stood my ground and very politely said, no.
Again this guy's not happy. And this didn't just stick to Sunday night/Monday all day. It spread out across the entire week. So here I am spending an entire week, livid and ready to spit nails across the pond at this guy. You know I really could have let it go if it hadn't been pounded at me from six different directions all week long.
So y'all want to know the lesson I learned? Hide in the wood work. Make yourself as invisible as possible and then no one can complain. But you know what, I say to hell with that! Life is meant to be lived to the fullest. And You can't sit around trying to make everyone else happy, because the person who's gonna be the unhappiest, is you.
